Commissions

If you take out an insurance policy, have your KiwiSaver managed by us, or draw down on asset finance following our advice, NZSaver will receive a commission from the relevant product provider.

  • KiwiSaver manager:
    • Between $0 and $300 upfront commission
    • Ongoing commission equivalent to 0.01-1.00% of the balance of funds managed by the provider, but usually between 0.20%-0.50% depending on the provider and savings amount

    • Between 45% and 230% of the first year’s premium (depending on the insurer and product);
    • Ongoing commission of 5%–10% of the premium for each year the policy remains in force.
  • Asset finance commission:
    • A commission equivalent to 0.5% of the interest rate, less the interest rate cost.

These commissions are paid by the product provider and are not an additional cost to you.

      • We have documented conflicts of interest policies and procedures
      • Our advisers follow a structured advice process focused on each client’s goals and circumstances
      • Advisers receive regular training on managing conflicts of interest
      • We undertake annual compliance audits and reviews by an external compliance adviser

      Complaints and disputes

      If you are not fully satisfied with the service provided by an NZSaver adviser, you can make a complaint.

      Your complaint will be acknowledged promptly and handled in line with our complaints process. Full details of our complaints handling and dispute resolution process are available on our website under Disputes and Complaints.
